California Highway Patrol (CHP) Reform

The California Highway Patrol System is in trouble. From false disability reports to excessive force and racial profiling, to use of breath-test equipment that produce higher-than-actual blood-alcohol levels in DUI field tests, the CHP is not "protecting and serving" Californians. In some cases, it's their worst enemy.

California Highway Patrol Uses Faulty "Intoxilyzer 5000" in DUI Stops; More Evidence Of False Readings

As if the study noted and linked to in this blog were not enough, here's more link evidence that the "Intoxilyzer 5000" used by the CHP is not reliable and produces overestimated readings.
